Several competitions for swimmers are organised yearly like the crossing of the lake from Lausanne to Evian (13km),[30] from Chillon Castle to Geneva (70km), [31] from Montreux to Clarens (1.8 km),[32] in Geneva (1.8 km),[33] all in summer, and the Coupe de Noël, 125m in Geneva in December.
